
Office/Restroom Remodel, Santa Catalina: Prime Contractor $179,000
SWP was contracted to complete a complete renovation for the United States Forest Service.
The major work activities included:
- Demolition/Clearing which included removal of all existing restroom and kitchen components
- All electrical wiring
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Flooring
- Concrete slabs
- Septic tank
- Fence removal
- Concrete included construction of reinforced footers for header vertical supports
- Concrete patching
- Replacement of the floor slab in the restrooms
- Kitchen
- Adjacent hallway and the storage closet
- Aggregate placement and compaction occurred under all new concrete floors
- The framing of walls and ceiling with standard steel stud construction
- SWP had to provide design and engineering calculations for the material and size of the headers and vertical supports over the kitchen and restroom openings. Wallboard included green board in all locations with the exception of the restroom walls which were constructed using 5/8” cement board
- Finishing and Paint included drywall texturing, Sherwin Williams interior acrylic, satin finish paint, and installation of a vinyl cove base
- Tile which included the restroom which was fully tiled on the floor and walls, laying tile in a grid pattern, and grout sealing with a commercial grade sealer
- Insulation was placed in ceiling and walls with an Owens Corning Kraft backed materials. HVAC work included rerouting the air supply ducts to serve each restroom, installation of a Panasonic 9000 BTU ductless mini split air conditioner, support ducts, new ceiling diffusers and new exhaust fans
